Graduation Gift

Here's a gift card organizer I designed and made for a graduation gift. I used K&Co papers form the Amy Butler collection and Brads from HOTP. It holds 4 cards, but could be made larger to hold more..I'm NOT planning on filling it for her-LOL

Parental warning...

This is totally not scrapping related, but important enough to post on both my blogs.
The world is such a dangerous place for our children....its even scarier when its other children who are working so hard to destroy each other. 17 yo artist "Soulja Boy" is one of those kids preying on your children and taking your money in the process. Please read this blog and follow the links to read the lyrics to the song. It both alarmed and saddened me that parents are spending hard earned money to indoctrinate their precious children with such and unhealthy view of sexual relations.

Be warned....you're not going to like what you read, and should probably not let your children read it unless they are mature enough to do so. The lyrics are vulgar and offensive, as are the comments left by children defending the song.

OK...hold onto your seats. I know this is shocking, but I did finally scrap today. This was suppose to be from a sketch at Gettin Sketchy, but it really doesn't look much like the sketch after I got done with it...lol

This is a canvas I altered for my daughter to give to her secret pal. I used black acrylic paint to coat the canvas then added the pink ribbon (not sure what company its from) Luxe Design paper strip, Urban Lilly for the circles and Stampin' Up white craft ink for the name. Then topped it off with a Prima Whispers flower and center bling. Sure hope she likes it!

Sketch challenge

Got this sketch off a challenge blog http://gettinsketchy.blogspot.com/ and this is my take on it. I mixed not only patterns, but brands of paper...oh my! Used my new Prima stamps in the corners and the Prima crystal swirl at the top. My title is a rubon in my stash that was not in packaging and I don't remember who made it.

My Word for 2008

My word-Diligence

One little word.
As copied form Ali's blog (Click title above to see her blog)

Now that many of you have chosen a word for the year, what will you do to keep it in mind throughout the year? It can be very simple or complex, a craft/scrapbooking project or a simple reminder in your planner or on your bulletin board. Some sort of visual reminder is a great way to add a bit of focus to your word.

Here's a couple ideas for honoring your word this year:

• Go through some magazines looking for your word or themes/phrases/etc that relate to your word. Cut them out and collage them together as a visual reminder. This could grow and expand throughout the year.
• Commission or locate a piece of jewelry that features your word. I am ordering a necklace with "vitality" from Lisa Leonard. Love this as a daily visual reminder.
• Print out a word card (see photo above) and place it where you will see it everyday (a bathroom mirror or refrigerator or bulletin board are all front and center).
• Create a canvas that introduces your word. Dump some paint right on there and go for it.
• Start a journal to document thoughts, feelings, experiences you have with your word over the course of the year. This could be a visual journal or just focus on the words. Your journal could be as simple as a Word document on your computer.
• Expand your interest in words by playing along with the challenges on the one little word blog.
